The Club

The Royal Montrose Golf Club was formed in 1986 from a merger of the Royal Albert Golf Club (1810), the Victoria Golf Club (1865) and the North Links Ladies Golf Club (1927).

The club welcomes Men, Ladies, Student and Junior members.

Competitions

Competitions are run throughout the year on both the Medal and Broomfield courses.  Men’s Medal competitions are played almost every Saturday of the year, and Ladies Medal competitions are held most Thursdays.

The Club runs numerous Adult and Junior Matchplay competitions throughout the season, and submits teams to County Golf Association events. A very active Senior Men’s section play 'Home and Away' matches against other Senior clubs in Angus, Fife and Aberdeenshire.

All playing members holding a current valid handicap are eligible to take part in these club events.  Partners can usually be found for Country and International members visiting the town. Information on course green fees and season tickets can be found at www.montroselinks.com

Members Guests

Members are permitted to introduce up to three guests at any one time, whose names and addresses should be entered in the visitors’ book.

There is a fairly informal dress code in operation which requires that members and their guests should dress with a degree of conventionality. Details of unacceptable items of dress are shown on the Club notice boards.

Dining Room and Bar Facilities

The Club’s Dining Room and Bar  facilities are open to members and their guests and visiting golfers throughout the year.  Evening, large group meals or Parties should be booked in advance with the Caterer.

The Clubhouse is normally open from 6.30am to 11pm during the playing season; April to October.

During the winter the Club is open from 7am to close of Bar business.  Restricted Bar hours are operated through the winter from November through March.  The daily bar hours are published on the home page of this website each week.

Monthly Prize Draw

The Club runs a Prize Draw with monthly prizes totalling £130, and £900 at the AGM in February each year. You can download a copy of the Application Form / Standing Order Mandate below.
